Chemical peels have been around for over a century, and they work — by dissolving the outer layers of your skin with acid. But the depth of a peel is difficult to control, downtime is real, and deeper skin tones face a higher risk of post-treatment pigmentation.
LaseMD Ultra is a non-ablative fractional 1927 nm thulium laser that accomplishes what peels and facials aim for — brighter tone, smoother texture, faded pigmentation — through a fundamentally more precise mechanism. Instead of an acid reaction spreading across your skin, the laser creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones at an exact, digitally controlled depth.

How it renews skin
Fractional 1927 nm laser energy creates thousands of precise micro-treatment zones that trigger the skin’s own renewal — no acid, no chemical reaction.
An acid solution (glycolic, salicylic, or TCA) dissolves the outer layers of skin, forcing them to shed over the following days.
Precision & depth control
Energy and density are dialed in digitally for each patient and each area — the depth of treatment is exact and repeatable.
Depth depends on acid strength, skin condition, and timing. Results can vary from session to session, and deeper peels carry more risk.
Downtime
Most patients have mild redness and light flaking for 1–3 days. Our Glow & Go option has essentially no downtime.
Superficial peels cause several days of visible flaking; medium-depth peels can mean a week or more of peeling and redness.
Safety across skin tones
The 1927 nm wavelength targets water rather than pigment, and has been studied in deeper skin types with low rates of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Medium and deep peels carry a meaningful risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, particularly in medium and deeper skin tones.
Collagen stimulation
Micro-treatment zones stimulate collagen remodeling beneath the surface — improvements in texture and fine lines continue building for months.
Superficial peels exfoliate the surface only; meaningful collagen stimulation requires deeper, higher-risk peels.
Serum delivery
Laser microchannels stay open after treatment, letting us infuse medical-grade ampoules (vitamin C, retinol, tranexamic acid) directly into the skin.
No delivery mechanism — freshly peeled skin is typically too sensitive for active ingredients.
